(change the repeat to 60 and it will be 2 seconds etc) With turbo mode the wait for a screen refresh is ignored and the scripts run as fast as they can.

So 30 iterations of the loop at 30 screen refreshes per second gives 1 second in total. if something has to be updated on the screen such as a sprite moving then every script that is running and has a loop will run to the end of the loop then wait until the screen is redrawn.

The reason is that scratch updates the screen 30 times per second. Add this script to a sprite when green flag clicked go to x: (0) y: (0) point in direction (90 v) repeat (30) move (1) steps endIf you run this in normal mode then the sprite will smoothly move 30 steps to the right from the middle of the screen and take 1 second.
